A grid appears after loading;each intersection is a color sampler

Suggested flow: check the grid → sample colors → remove the background and noise → verify bead codes → save or export.

01Import & precise alignment

Imported images are analyzed for an initial grid size. Cells stay square, and rows and columns can be entered, stepped, or aspect-locked.

Drag a sample point to refine one cell, or drag empty space to move the grid. Hold Shift and drag between points to move a full row or column.

Smart sampling avoids cell edges based on the grid size. Use Auto-tune sample points in Grid or Image scale tuning if the source still drifts.

02Canvas controls

Use the mouse wheel to zoom around the pointer and right-drag to pan. Press 0 to center at 100%, or 1 to fit the view.

Use Undo / Redo at the bottom. With a background or paint tool active, click or drag across cells; press Esc to exit the tool.

The pixel preview supports 1× / 1.5× / 2× and can be moved to any corner of the canvas.

03Background & detail repair

Background removal previews before applying. Pink cells are candidates only; cancel a mistake or use Restore Subject.

Restored areas are protected. To remove one later, choose Select Background again and click that area to remove its protection.

Manual corrections include Brush, Restore Cell, and Eyedropper. Detail Protection helps preserve eyes, mouths, and highlights during cleanup.

04Colors & bead mapping

Click a swatch to highlight matching cells and spot one- or two-cell artifacts. Double-click to batch recolor or restore them.

Use palettes including MARD 221 / MARD 291, preview mapped bead colors, and see codes, color count, and total bead use.

Similar-color merging is off by default so nearby shades that carry light or shadow detail stay separate.

05Autosave & export

Edits are autosaved in this browser under the project name. Images and pixel data are never uploaded; a JSON backup is a downloaded snapshot.

Download or copy transparent Pixel PNGs, Upscaled PNGs, and regular or mirrored bead patterns. Patterns include coordinates, codes, quantities, and optional watermarks.

Not saved

Each named project is autosaved separately in this browser. For another device or a lasting backup, use “Save project”. A .pixtame file is a snapshot; later edits do not update an older downloaded file.

Grid

Rows

Columns

Enter 4–240 rows or columns directly. Cell size follows the larger count: changing the smaller count only adds or removes cells in that direction; changing the largest count scales the whole grid. When the aspect ratio is locked, changing either value updates the other to match the current ratio.

Sampling

Grid linesPointsPoint colors

Each intersection displays its sampled color so misplaced points are easy to spot.

Resetting the grid rebuilds regular sample points for the current rows and columns and clears background candidates and protection marks.

Image scale tuning

When the source pixels drift from the grid, scale the image in 1% steps so cell boundaries align with real pixels and reduce accumulated sampling error. This works best with Reset Grid and Auto Align.

Merge similar colors

Tolerance0

Higher tolerance merges more similar colors and reduces artifacts from gradients or compression.

Color adjustments

Brightness, contrast, and saturation adjust the sampled colors. “Reset” restores only these three settings; it keeps painting, background, and grid edits.

Detail protection22

Detail protection preserves small high-contrast features such as eyes, mouths, and highlights; Low-contrast antialiasing can still be removed. Set to 0 to disable protection.

Cyan marks show thin-line suggestions supported by the original; click to exclude. Compare curves, eyes, mouths and tips. Turn off changed-cell marks to see actual colors. No redraw or guaranteed improvement; undo is available. Point or color changes clear the preview.

Background removal

Color tolerance0

Choose Select Background and click the canvas. Pink cells are a preview; apply only when ready. Restore transparent cells with Restore Subject. To remove a restored area again, select it as background once more.

Export

Pixel PNG exports one pixel per cell. Upscaled PNG uses the scale below and preserves transparent cells. To keep editing, save a .pixtame project in Files.

Scale factor12×

A mirrored pattern flips the design horizontally while keeping color codes and coordinates readable. Use it for reverse ironing or when the finished orientation should be flipped.
